On Sunday, March 5, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian vehicle registration certificate, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners

at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to three citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner  was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. Two more citizens of Ukraine and one - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of The Netherlands, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
