On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Ukraine as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel documents. One more citizen of Russia was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Moldova was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 citizens of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, three – of Kazakhstan, two – of Latvia, two – of Moldova, two – of Romania, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Bosnia and Hercegovina, one – of Italy, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
