On Wednesday, March 7, 27 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 199 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 1 person has been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country.
10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, while at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova and one - of Lebanon were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for United Kingdom without valid for travelling to United Kingdom document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – three citizens of Latvia, two - of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of China.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia and one – of Lithuania.
