On Thursday, March 9, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Silene, the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Three more citizens of Russia and one - of Moldova were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

two citizens of Kirgizstan, one – of Ukraine and one - of Russia were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 16 persons - 12 citizen of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, one – of Latvia and one – of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Serbia.
