On Sunday, March 9, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 230 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country. 6 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 non-citizen of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Great Britain, who was not valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for four persons - two citizens of Estonia, one – of Russia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 30 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Moldova, four - of Belarus, four - of Kazakhstan, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Romania, two – of Serbia, two - of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Georgia, one – of Spain, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
