On Monday, May 13, 13 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1750 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 9 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 64 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one - of Belarus, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. While at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Ukraine, one – of Kazakhstan and three – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or entry permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova and one - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
one citizen of Armenia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 citizens of Latvia
at the Riga airport Border Control Point five citizens of Latvia, departing for Great Britain without valid for travel to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 20 persons - 11 citizens of India, three - of Estonia, three – of Pakistan, two – of Russia and one – of Iran.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two - of Latvia, two – of Estonia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one – of Ukraine and one – of Switzerland.
