On Tuesday, May 14, 4 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1754 persons have been stopped this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 9 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.

13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including: entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners. At the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova and one -  of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as  entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one -  of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons -  2 citizens of Lithuania, one - of Russia, one - of Estonia, one – of India and one – of Kyrgyzstan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 26 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 16 citizens of Belarus, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Lithuania, two - of Germany, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Poland and one – of Serbia.
