On Sunday, May 26, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2062 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country.

- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan vehicle and trailer roadworthiness test certificates, was detected. The person was held administratively liable.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 18 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Riga airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Uzbekistan and two – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to two citizen of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, two - of Moldova and eight - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

one citizen of Russia was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Russia, one - of USA and one - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four – of Russia, three – of Latvia, two – of Germany, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Georgia, one – of Italy, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Uzbekistan.
