On Thursday, May 30, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2095 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 10 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 61 offenders at external borders and within the country.
29 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has a ban to entry the territory of the Schengen States; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Moldova and one - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia and one – of Belarus and one – of Georgia were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by three citizens of Uzbekistan was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 13 persons - three citizens of Russia, three – of Morocco, three – of India, one – of Latvia, one – of Surinam, one – of Tajikistan and one - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Armenia, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia and one of Uzbekistan.
