On Monday, May 6, 7 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1672 persons have been stopped this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, 0 persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; a total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 3 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan leaving Latvia with lorry and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged roadworthiness certificate for a trailer, was detected. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, two citizens of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia with lorries and trailers, who presented to border guards forged Montenegro International Vehicle Insurance Policy, were detected. The persons were subjected to administrative liability, the forged documents were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Riga Airport and Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Russia without valid for travelling to Russia documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, four – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one - of Moldova, one – of Norway and one – of Portugal.
