On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 42 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
26 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at “Terehova”, “Silene”, “Grebņeva” and the Airport “Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Kazakhstan, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Moldova and one citizen of India, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
three citizens of Ukraine were detected at the “Terehova” border control point or violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa). People were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport “Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain was detected.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by two people - one citizen of Lithuania and one citizen of Georgia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Belgium, one citizen of Moldova, and one citizen of Sweden.
