On Friday, November 1, 28 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5117 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 68 offenders at external borders and within the country.
47 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 42 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Moldova and two – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 28 citizens of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Belarus, one - of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Belarus, one – of Italy and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of France, one – of Iran, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania and one - of Germany.
