On Friday, November 11, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 59 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
25 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one wanted person has been detained
one citizen of Latvia entering the Republic of Latvia who is wanted by the police was detected at the “Riga” Airport border control. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight foreigners
at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Grebņeva”, „Pāternieki” and „Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, and one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his or her travel and stay. For security reasons, three citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by seven foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Belarus, and one citizen of Tajikistan were detected at the “Grebņeva”, “Silene” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). The proceedings in the case of administrative violations by citizen of Tajikistan were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the “Riga” Airport border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain was detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 12 people - six citizens of Vietnam, two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Turkey, and one citizen of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Russia, four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Latvia, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Estonia, one citizen of Bulgaria, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and one citizen of Moldova.
