On Sunday, November 12, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 57 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

35 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 22 foreigners

at “Vientuļi” and “Silene” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Armenia, one citizen of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and one citizen of Israel, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid travel document; nine citizens of Moldova and one citizen of Azerbaijan, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, five citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by six foreigners

four citizens of Ukraine and two citizens of Moldova were detected at the “Pāternieki” and “Terehova” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime). People are subjects to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at the “Riga” Airport border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five persons - one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Sweden.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - eight citizens of Belarus, five citizens of Ukraine, and one citizen of Kazakhstan.
