On Monday, November 14, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 47 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
25 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight foreigners
at “Terehova”, “Silene”, “Pāternieki” and the “Riga” Airport border control pints, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Belarus, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; two citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, three citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by seven foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the “Silene” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). People are subjects to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the “Riga” Airport border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by six persons - two citizens of Lithuanian, one citizen of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Sweden.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Serbia, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Ukraine.
