On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 38 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at “Terehova”, “Silene”, “Grebņeva” and “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Russia and two citizens of Ukraine, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner did not have a valid travel document; and three citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Russia, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Mongolia were detected at “Terehova” and “Pāternieki” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime). People are subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by two persons - one citizen of Latvia and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Romania.
