On Friday, November 15, 4 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5283 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country.
28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan leaving Latvia with a vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Kyrgyzstan vehicle registration certificate, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, two – of Belarus, one – of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
five citizens of Uzbekistan and four – of Kazakhstan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, four citizens of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel documents were not valid for travel to Great Britain, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Turkey, who did not have at least one parent's notarized consent for the child's departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - three citizens of Estonia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of Romania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus, one – of USA one – of Serbia.
