On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 29 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

11 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to three foreigners

for security reasons, entry into the Republic of Latvia at “Terehova” and “Silene” border control points was denied to three citizens of Russia. People were returned to their country of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners

one citizen of Ukraine and one citizen of Russia were detected at “Terehova” and “Grebņeva” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded duration of stay specified in visas). People are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia

at “Silene” border control point, one minor citizen of the Republic of Latvia leaving the Republic of Latvia without at least one parent’s notarized consent consent to leave the country independently was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by two persons - one citizen of Albania and one citizen of Georgia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Russia, three citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Kyrgyzstan, two citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Belgium, one citizen of Bulgaria, and one citizen of Serbia.
