On Saturday, November 16, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5283 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Albania leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged passport of another person, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents and concealing one's identity.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of India and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries);as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, five citizens of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel documents were not valid for travel to Great Britain, as well as one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, who is prohibited from leaving the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, five – of Latvia, three – of Russia, two – of Moldova, one - of Lithuania and one – of Serbia.
