On Sunday, November 17, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5283 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country.
31 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Kazakhstan leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Latvian International Vehicle Insurance Policy, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, one – of Georgia and one – of Israel, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to two citizens of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to four citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners have a Schengen entry ban (they are not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries); as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and two - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Moldova was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, four citizens of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel documents were not valid for travel to Great Britain, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - five citizens of Estonia and one – of Ecuador.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Turkey, one – Germany and one – of Czech Republic.
