On Monday, November 18, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5283 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted person – a citizen of Latvia was detained
when profiling passengers, at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one Latvian citizen entering from Germany, who is wanted by the police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, one – of the Netherlands, one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
eight citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of India were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, as well as one minor citizen of Georgia, who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent for the child's departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons - two citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Ukraine, two – of Lithuania, one - of Estonia, one – of Russia and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four – of Uzbekistan, two – of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Serbia.
