On Tuesday, November 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5283 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries); as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven citizens of Moldova and one - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Kazakhstan was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Angola and one – of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Moldova and one – of Germany.
