On Thursday, November 2, 34 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12983 persons have been stopped during this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, one person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours.

A total 391 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On November 2, officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 2 wanted persons were detained

At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for London and one – for Dubai, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel documents. One more citizen of Ukraine and one of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Hurgada without valid travel document (invalid document due to change of surname), was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 14 persons – ten citizens of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, three – of Latvia, three - of

of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Germany.
