On Wednesday, November 22, no one person was stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13661 persons have been stopped from illegally crossing the border during this year.
A total 416 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On November 22, officials of the State Border Guard detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to four citizens of Moldova, three – of Ukraine and one – of Russia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. Four more citizens of Ukraine and one – of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Russia and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 5 citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
