On Friday, November 25, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 37 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

14 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to three foreigners

at the “Grebņeva” and “Silene” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit. For security reasons, one citizen of Russia and one citizen Moldova were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by seven foreigners

three citizens of Uzbekistan, three citizens of Ukraine, and one citizen of Russia were detected at the “Terehova” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa - free regime). The proceedings in the case of administrative violations by two citizens of Ukraine were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia

at “Silene” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing from Latvia without a valid travel document (the document was reported as stolen or lost) was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by six people - three citizens of Tajikistan, two citizens of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of India.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - eight citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Ukraine, and one citizen of Lithuania.
