On Monday, November 25, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5323 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners
11 citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of The Philippines were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of The Philippines was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Turkey, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of India and one – of Nigeria.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Kazakhstan, two – of Russia, two – of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
