On Sunday, November 26, no one person was stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13702 persons have been stopped during this year.
A total 416 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On November 26, officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country.
26 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as to six citizens of Moldova and three – of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia and one - of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Belarus and two – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Latvia, four – of Belarus, three – of Tajikistan, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
