On Sunday, November 27, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 55 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
31 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at “Grebņeva”, “Terehova”, “Silene”, “Pāternieki” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit, and to four citizens of Moldova as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, five citizens of Russia and one citizen of Ukraine were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by nine foreigners
four citizens of Russia, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Great Britain were detected at the “Grebņeva”, “Terehova”, and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa-free regime). People are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entry into Great Britain and one citizen of Latvia departing for Tel Aviv without a valid travel document (the document is reported as stolen or lost) were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three citizens of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - nine citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Latvia, four citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Greece, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
