On Monday, November 27, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13728 persons have been stopped during this year.

A total 416 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On November 27, officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, one - of Russia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. One more citizen of Ukraine and one – of Moldova were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners

six citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia, departing for Bristol without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, two – of India and one - of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
