On Tuesday, November 28, no one person was stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13728 persons have been stopped during this year.

A total 416 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On November 28, officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to seven citizens of Ukraine and one – of Serbia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Six more citizens of Russia and one - of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons -  two citizens of Estonia, one – of Russia and one – of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Belarus, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania,

one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Moldova.
