On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 40 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

20 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • one wanted person has been detained

one citizen of Latvia entering the Republic of Latvia who is wanted by the police was detected at the “Riga” border control point. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to nine foreigners

at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Grebņeva” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one citizen of Georgia, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, and to two citizens of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, two citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Estonia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners

one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Belarus were detected at the “Terehova” and “Silene” border control points for violation of conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa). People are subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven people - two citizens of Venezuela, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Brazil, and one citizen of Colombia.  

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Hungary.
