On Friday, November 29, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5345 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 25 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards forged Lithuanian roadworthiness certificates, was detected. Person was held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners

at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners

two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Russia, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Russia, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons -  two citizens of Lithuania, two – of India, one – of Estonia and one – of Cameroon.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, one – of Belarus, one – of Italy, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
