On Thursday, November 3, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 43 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
29 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven foreigners
at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Silene”, “Grebņeva” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Brazil, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. For security reasons, one citizen of Russia was denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
two citizens of Georgia and one citizen of Ukraine were detected at the “Pāternieki” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa - free regime). People were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Latvia
at the “Riga” Airport border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London and one citizen of Latvia departing for Manchester without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. At the “Silene” border control point, one citizen of Latvia without a valid travel document (the document was reported as stolen or lost) was detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three people - one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Estonia, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Russia, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Estonia, and one citizen of Lithuania.
