On Monday, November 4, 14 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5179 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
· 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Azerbaijan leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Azerbaijan International Vehicle Insurance Policy, was detected. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Belarus leaving Latvia with vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Vehicle Roadworthiness Test Certificate, was detected. The persons were held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
· entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries). While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
· conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Russia, one – of Georgia, one – of Latvia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens Belarus, two – of Latvia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
