On Saturday, November 5, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 63 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

29 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners

at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Silene” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Armenia and two citizens of Belarus, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; three citizens of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay, and one citizen of Austria as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen countries. For security reasons, six citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by five foreigners

two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Georgia and one citizen of Moldova were detected at the “Silene”, “Terehova” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). People were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Latvia

at the “Riga” Airport border control point, four citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five people - two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Georgia, and one citizen of Germany.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 29 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - 13 citizens of Belarus, six citizens of Latvia, three citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Lithuania, three citizens of Kyrgyzstan, two citizens of Kazakhstan, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Poland, and one citizen of Germany.
