On Sunday, November 5, 21 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13119 persons have been stopped during this year.
A total 406 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On November 5, officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of USA, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. One more citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Belarus was detected at the Pāternieki Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons – one citizen of Lithuania and one – of Croatia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Latvia, four - of Belarus, four – of Uzbekistan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Rumania.
