On Sunday, November 6, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 31 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

19 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven foreigners

at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Silene” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit; and two citizens of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, two citizens of Russia and two citizens of Ukraine were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by four foreigners

two citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and one citizen of Ukraine were detected at the “Pāternieki”, “Terehova” and “Silene” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding duration of stay specified in a visa or visa free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). People are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Latvia

at the “Riga” Airport border control point, four citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by two citizens of Estonia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 10 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - three citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Russia, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Bulgaria, and one citizen of Tajikistan.
