On Monday, November 6, 56 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13175 persons have been stopped during this year.
A total 406 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On November 6, officials of the State Border Guard detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country.
28 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards a forged Ukrainian identity card, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, and to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Turkey, one – of Nigeria and one – of Kirgizstan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point three citizens of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Estonia and two – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three - of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Georgia,
one – of Moldova and one – of Germany.
