On Monday, November 7, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 63 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

39 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • two foreigners with forged documents were detected

one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged driver’s license of Ukraine to the border guards at the “Terehova” border control point, and meanwhile, one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged driver’s license of Ukraine to the border guards at the “Grebņeva” border control point were detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. Forged documents were confiscated as part of the criminal proceedings. 

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners

at “Terehova”, “Silene”, and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; three citizens of Uzbekistan and two citizens of Moldova, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. People were returned to their countries of origin.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by eight foreigners

four citizens of Uzbekistan, two citizens of Tajikistan, one citizen of Moldova, and one citizen of Russia were detected at the “Grebņeva”, “Terehova” and the “Riga” Airport border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). People were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia

at the “Riga” Airport border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Marsaalama who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent for the child to leave the country. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by one citizen of Tajikistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - nine citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Russia, three citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Kazakhstan.
