On Wednesday, November 8, 95 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 13310 persons have been stopped during this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, four persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours.
A total 411 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On November 8, officials of the State Border Guard detected 56 offenders at external borders and within the country.
39 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, to four citizens of Ukraine, one – of Moldova and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. Two more citizens of Russia and two - of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 14 foreigners
five citizens of Tajikistan, four – of Uzbekistan, two – of Kirgizstan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of India and one – of Moldova were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of India was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Estonia, two – of Pakistan and one - of England.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Rumania and one – of Germany.
