On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 36 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 16 foreigners
at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Pāternieki” and the “Riga” Airport border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of the USA, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; and seven citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Azerbaijan, and one citizen of Serbia, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, two citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their countries of origin.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by one foreigner
one citizen of Ukraine was detected at the “Riga” Airport border control point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the duration of stay specified in a visa free regime). The person is subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the “Silene” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing without a valid travel document was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by one citizen of Georgia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Israel, one citizen of Tajikistan, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Germany.
