On Monday, October 10, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 52 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

28 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 14 foreigners

at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, Silene”, „Pāternieki”, „Grebņeva” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Turkey, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay; and one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid travel document. One citizen of Moldova as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries. Additionally, five citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by nine foreigners

three citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Ireland, one citizen of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Great Britain were detected at the “Grebņeva”, “Terehova”, “Vientuļi”, “Pāternieki”, “Silene” and the Airport “Riga” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or visa - free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). The proceedings in the case of administrative violations of a citizen of Ireland were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 11 people - four citizens of Uzbekistan, two citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Georgia, one citizen of Turkey, and one citizen of Poland.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, two citizens of Germany, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Bulgaria, one citizen of Romania, and one citizen of Hungary.
