On Thursday, October 10, 8 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4669 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Bulgaria due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, three – of Tajikistan, one – of Russia and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia departing for Cyprus, who was not in possession of valid travel document, and one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for United Kingdom, whose travel document was not valid for travel to United Kingdom, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – three citizens of Latvia, one – of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Kazakhstan, three – of Latvia, one – of Moldova and one – of Tajikistan.
