On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at “Pāternieki” border control point, one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged drivers’ license of Ukraine to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, the forged documents were confiscated.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three foreigners
at „Terehova”, „Silene” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. For security reasons, one citizen of Russia was denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by nine foreigners
three citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Great Britain were detected at the Airport „Riga” border control point for violating the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or visa - free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). The proceedings in the case of administrative violations of two citizens of Ukraine were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 14 people - six citizens of India, three citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Ukraine, three citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Georgia, one citizen of Macedonia, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of the Czech Republic.
