On Friday, October 11, 19 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4688 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country.
25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Georgia and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; while at the at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Tajikistan, three – of Russia and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points and at the Port of Riga, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons – one citizen of Russia and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Moldova, two – of Russia, one – of Albania, one – of France and one – of Uzbekistan.
