On Thursday, October 13, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 52 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

28 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 10 foreigners

at „Vientuļi”, „Grebņeva” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, as well as two citizens of Armenia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, five citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners

at “Terehova” and the Airport “Riga” border control points, two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Kazakhstan who had violated conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa) were detected. The proceedings in the case of administrative violations of citizen of Kazakhstan were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Latvia

at the Airport „Riga” border control point, three departing citizens of Latvia whose documents were not valid for departure to Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three people - one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Albania, and one citizen of Moldova.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Belarus, five citizens of Latvia, three citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Lithuania, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
