On Friday, October 14, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 50 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

26 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for seven foreigners

at „Terehova”, „Silene” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused for two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, as well as to citizens of Georgia and one citizen of Uzbekistan, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, one citizen of Ukraine was denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by four foreigners

three citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Great Britain were detected at the Airport “Riga” border control point for violation of the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or visa free regime). People were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Latvia

at the Airport “Riga” border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Dubai who did not have the other parent’s notarized consent to leave the country independently, were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven people - five citizens of Estonia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Russia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Great Britain.
