On Monday, October 17, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 50 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
29 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at „Terehova” border control point, one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged driver’s license of Ukraine to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, a forged document was confiscated.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 20 foreigners
at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Grebņeva” and „Pāternieki” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; two other citizens of Moldova as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay; one citizen of Belarus, as foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of Schengen zone countries. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Russia were detected at the “Grebņeva” and the Airport “Riga” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa, no valid visas or residence permits). People are subject to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the Airport “Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven people - two citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Pakistan, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Estonia, and one citizen of Turkey.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Russia, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Bulgaria, one citizen of Serbia, and one citizen of Ukraine.
