On Saturday, October 19, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and, Belarus, while a total – 4921 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, two - of Russia, one – of Moldova and one - of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Kazakhstan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Serbia were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Syria.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five – of Moldova, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
