On Sunday, October 2, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 32 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three foreigners
at „Pāternieki” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit. Two more citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners
at “Grebņeva” and “Terehova” border control points, one citizen of Moldova and one citizen of Ukraine who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime) were detected. People were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Antalya who did not have his/her parents' notarized consent to leave the country independently, and one citizen of Latvia departing for Dubai without a valid travel document (the document is invalid due to change of surname) were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three people - two citizens of Estonia and one citizen of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - three citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Moldova.
